The EBC is GENESIS SYSTEMS CORPORATION'S Electronic Birth Certificate. It is a computer software product for use at birthing institutions which creates both a "hard copy" birth certificate and a computer data file of live births. The hard copy certificate is printed on the existing birth certificate form to create an original birth certificate. The computer data file is sent ( either by diskette or phone) to local and state vital records offices along with the paper certificate. The data file is downloaded to existing mainframe computers with most of the necessary "coding" done automatically in the download process. In addition, the computer data file can be used by the birthing institution for reporting purposes by using the "CUSTOM REPORT GENERATOR" portion of the program.
