What does Genesis Systems Inc. do?
Genesis currently has contracts with over thirty of the Departments of Health throughout the United States.
The birth record is entered directly into the hospital's computer system by a maternity attendant. The record is then transmitted directly to the state via diskette or modem. Once the birth record is received at the state, the information is processed utilizing our complimentary products WinVRS® and E-Code®. The resulting data is then used to feed various processes. For example, the information is parsed and utilized to secure Social Security numbers for the children, accumulate birth statistics, and provide demographic data of the birth parents. One variation of our product captures over 400 data items concerning the birth event and provides a direct feed to the hospital association and to the State Department of Child and Maternal Health. The actual birth registration almost becomes a by-product of the process.
How was Genesis Systems Inc. formed?
The company was founded by Michael Fishter in Lewistown, PA (the corporate headquarters), and has recently expanded with a satellite location in Harrisburg, PA. Genesis has complete programming capabilities ranging from DOS and main frame applications to Windows and WEB-based applications. In addition, the company provides Technical Support services to more than 2,500 hospitals from its Help Desk operation located at the Lewistown facility.
