WebEFDC
The Web Electronic Fetal Death Certificate core module (WebEFDC ä) includes all the functionality necessary to capture, maintain, report and store data pertaining to the fetal death event. The combination of point and click technology and extensive edit checks will assure the data integrity required in today's vital records solutions. Data is grouped in a tabular format and user-friendly screens are arranged in an easy to use configuration that allows the user to quickly navigate between data items. WebEFDC ä includes the following features:
- Capability to receive fetal death related data elements from multiple data providers for an individual fetal death certificate. Participants in the registration of an individual fetal death certificate include hospitals, birthing centers, funeral directors, physicians and medical examiners.
- Ability for the local registrar and/or state clerk to participate in the registration of the fetal death certificate if a hospital, birthing center, funeral home, physician and/or medical examiner is not on-line with the WebEFDC ä system.
- On-line search option for fetal death data providers to retrieve a partial fetal death record in order to complete their portion of the fetal death certificate.
- Capacity to import data from other systems, such as other Hospital Applications.
- Ability to register delayed fetal death certificates.
- Capability for the death physician and/or medical examiner to electronically certify a fetal death record via PIN.
- Potential to accept electronic signatures from certifiers, funeral directors, physicians and/or medical examiners.
- Enforcement of instantaneous edit checks to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Capacity to enter out-of-state fetal death records via data entry screens and/or electronic interstate exchange file.
- Automatic assignment of State File Number and date filed upon record completion (legal filing can be separate from statistical/medical filing).
- Printing of fetal death related documents (Certificate of Fetal Death, Burial Permit), non-resident fetal death transcripts and/or generation of an electronic interstate exchange file.
- Capability to generate query letters to fetal death data participants (hospitals, physicians, medical examiners, etc.) for clarification of incomplete or inconsistent data elements.
- Ability to modify a fetal death record after filing (corrections, amendments, etc.).
- Generation of standard reports (Incomplete Fetal Death Record List, Resident Fetal Deaths, Fetal Death Occurrence List).
- Generation of standard files (NCHS, Statistical, Annual Report
